		<description><![CDATA[I agree that assertiveness is good, and now that the GOP has majorities in both branches of Congress I expect them to use it to effectively block and roll back the overreaches of the past 6 years.  We must hold our elected officials accountable and there&#039;s no reason to be shy about it.

That said, I suspect there actually will be possibilities for the GOP to pick up some Democrat votes in the next two years, if for no other reason than self preservation, as the last election demonstrated the dissatisfaction with the state of nation under the Obama administration .
