GOP Shows Split Personality on Immigration Issue

GOP tries to make English official

This is an opening dose of antidote to the Prez et al in their efforts to destroy our national border.

Some Republican senators are calling the English-language requirements in the immigration bill toothless and want the bill to declare English the “national” language of the U.S. and the country’s official means of doing business. The fight is over whether the bill should call English the “common” language — as it reads now — or deem it the “national,” or official language, which the Republican senators say would cut the amount of government services provided in other languages and would overturn President Clinton’s 2000 executive order that encouraged federal services to be delivered in different languages.

Sen. James M. Inhofe, Oklahoma Republican, has proposed an amendment to make English the national language — a move that he said declares that “there is not an entitlement for language, other than the English language, to be given to people who want government services. Very simple.”

A good first step.

GOP Facing Immigration Meltdown

RNC faces donor falloff, fires solicitors

Looks like the efforts of the Prez and other Republocrats to push for the the Kennedy-McCainiac National Border Abolition Act masquerading as “immigration reform” is having a real, and negative impact on the Republican base.

DUH!

The Republican National Committee, hit by a grass-roots donors’ rebellion over President Bush’s immigration policy, has fired all 65 of its telephone solicitors, The Washington Times has learned. Faced with an estimated 40 percent falloff in small-donor contributions and aging phone-bank equipment that the RNC said would cost too much to update, Anne Hathaway, the committee’s chief of staff, summoned the solicitations staff and told them they were out of work, effective immediately, fired staff members told The Times.

The “official” fig-leaf story to cover this is that the equipment is just too obsolete to maintain, and too expensive to replace. Hmmmm. One has to think that if there was a good return, the COI (cost of investment) would be readily recovered, but since this isn’t the case…one must look elsewhere:

Several of the solicitors fired at the May 24 meeting reported declining contributions and a donor backlash against the immigration proposals now being pushed by Mr. Bush and Senate Republicans. “Every donor in 50 states we reached has been angry, especially in the last month and a half, and for 99 percent of them immigration is the No. 1 issue,” said a fired phone bank employee who said the severance pay the RNC agreed to pay him was contingent on his not criticizing the national committee.

This must be the sort of thing they are getting these days:
Cero Pesos

A spokeswoman for the committee denied any drop-off in fundraising. “Any assertion that overall donations have gone down is patently false,” RNC spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt wrote by e-mail yesterday in response to questions sent by The Times. “We continue to out-raise our Democrat counterpart by a substantive amount (nearly double).”

That is a very interesting statement to parse. OVERALL donations haven’t gone down…but there is more to the story:

Previous Republican donors have given RNC solicitors an earful about the proposed immigration measure. “We have not heard anyone in our donor calls who supported the president on immigration,” said a fired phone solicitor, who described himself as a Republican activist.

Putting these two assessments together, can one conclude that corporate/business contributions are SUPPORTING the cheap labor situation that results from the current near anarchy on the border? Where else could the difference be?

Also there is some evidence of (to quote Barney Fife: “Surprise, surprise, surprise!”) of either an astounding lack of situational awareness, or a stupendous effort to blow smoke into places where the sun NEVER shines.

“We write these comments up from each call, and give them to a supervisor who passes them on to the finance director or the national chairman,” he said. “But when I talked with the White House, the people there told me they got nothing but positive comments on the president’s immigration stand.”

There is also some collateral damage occurring beyond the RNC.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) and the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) both report having trouble raising money from the small donors who are the backbone of all the fundraising committees for both major parties.

It’ll be interesting to see if and how the GOP turns this around, or if the Grand Old Party goes the way of the Whigs who died out when they were too anti-slavery to please the South, and not abolitionist enough to get Northern support. The keywords to any such GOP revival HAVE to include: “BORDERS, LANGUAGE, CULTURE”.

GlowBull Warming With Sandlin-Herseth

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

The Chief was on a road trip when the big story of SanFran Nan and her arctic exploration expedition was getting a lot of attention.  As a result it didn’t get my full attention…although my scientific sensibility was offended by the concept that ANYONE could fly into Greenland, spend a couple days looking around, and then proclaim that they now were SURE that GlowBull Warming was occurring, since they had actually seen some ice fall into the ocean.

It COULDN’T have had anything to do with the fact that since the Greenland ice cap is accumulating MORE ice due to colder inland temperatures, that the ice along the coasts is being pushed out from the pressure of the new interior ice.  It also couldn’t have anything to do with the fact also that it is now SPRING in the northern hemisphere, and yes, some ice does melt in the spring, even in the arctic, whether or not there are SUV’s making CO2.  (What a concept!)

Of course, Greenland is still a long way from its condition when the Vikings discovered it a millenium ago, and named it GREENLAND because the coastal areas at least were ice-free and GREEN!

Finally, the Chief got caught up enough to also discover that South Dakota’s own Donk Cong Stephanie Sandlin-Herseth was part of the Pelosi GlowBull warming posse, ooking out for South Dakota.  Why if she wasn’t on the job, it might even warm up here, to where our temperature MIGHT make it into the 70′s for more than a couple days this summer.  What an environmental  catastrophe THAT would be, right Stephanie?

Your tax dollar$ at work!

AN ENORMOUS CRIME

There has been a body of anecdotal material floating around for decades about Viet-Nam war POWs that were “left behind” and were/are still in captivity in Viet-Nam and Laos. Just out is a new book on this…with more than just anecdotal evidence and heresay.

An Enormous Crime is nothing less than shocking. Based on thousands of pages of public and previously classified documents, it makes an utterly convincing case that when the American government withdrew its forces from Vietnam, it knowingly abandoned hundreds of POWs to their fate. The product of twenty-five years of research by former Congressman Bill Hendon and attorney Elizabeth A. Stewart, An Enormous Crime brilliantly exposes the reasons why these American soldiers and airmen were held back by the North Vietnamese at Operation Homecoming in 1973 and what these men have endured since.

Despite hundreds of postwar sightings and intelligence reports telling of Americans being held captive throughout Vietnam and Laos, Washington did nothing. And despite numerous secret military signals and codes sent from the desperate POWs themselves, the Pentagon did not act. Even in 1988, a U.S. spy satellite passing over Sam Neua Province, Laos, spotted the twelve-foot-tall letters “USA” and immediately beneath them a huge, highly classified Vietnam War-era USAF/USN Escape & Evasion code in a rice paddy in a narrow mountain valley. The letters “USA” appeared to have been dug out of the ground, while the code appeared to have been fashioned from rice straw.

POW Message

Tragically, the brave men who constructed these codes have not yet come home. Nor have any of the other American POWs who the postwar intelligence shows have laid down similar codes, secret messages, and secret authenticators in rice paddies and fields and garden plots and along trails in both Laos and Vietnam.

An Enormous Crime is based on open-source documents and reports, and thousands of declassified intelligence reports and satellite imagery, as well as author interviews and personal experience. It is a singular work, telling a story unlike any other in our modern history: ugly, harrowing, and true.

From what the Chief can tell from this there has been an unprecedented betrayal by many, including some who should know better…for specific examples Senators Kerry and the real Manchurian Candidate himself, McCain…thoroughly documented in the large chapter of the book entitled “Fragged”.

It’s enough to make you want to cry, and then do…what?

“AMERICA IS AT THAT AWKWARD STAGE. IT’S TOO LATE TO WORK WITHIN THE SYSTEM, BUT TOO EARLY TO START SHOOTING THE BASTARDS.”

Is it still too early? The Chief begins to wonder!

Bush rallies behind illegals deal

President Bush today promoted the current plan for immigration reform by stumping in Georgia for the much-debated proposal, in a speech aimed at both reassuring and rebuking critics.

“The immigration system is in desperate need for comprehensive reform, and Congress has a historic window to act,” Mr. Bush said.

That last statement at least is true – it’s just too bad that the administrations’s de facto policies and proposals do more harm than good when it comes to fixing the disorder on the borders.

Mr. Bush, speaking at a training facility in Glynco, Ga., for border patrol agents and other immigration enforcement officers, emphasized that the immigration reform plan focuses on border security first…. “We’re working hard to enforce the border, and we’re stepping up enforcement inside the country,” Mr. Bush said.

On can believe as much of that as you want to…for the Chief, it’s not much. Taking Biblical advice: “By their fruits ye shall know them”. Failure to unleash the Border Patrol, and refusal to start construction on more than a few of the 700 miles of authorized barrier give the lie to administration expressions of concern.

“Amnesty is forgiveness for being here without any penalties … This bill is not an amnesty bill. If you want to scare the American people, what you say is, ‘The bill’s an amnesty bill,’” Mr. Bush said. “That’s empty political rhetoric trying to frighten our fellow citizens.”

Excuse me! Amnesty is a CONDITIONAL state by definition…not “without any penalties”. With NO due respect to the President on this, the current Kennedy-McCainiac plan IS a form of amnesty.

Mr. Bush explained the plan, which would require all of the estimated 12 to 20 million illegal aliens living in the U.S. to come forward and register with the government, pay a “meaningful fine,” pay any back taxes, and then either enroll in a guest-worker program or return to their home country and apply for citizenship.

REALITY & LOGIC CHECK: We are unable to round up the illegals and ship them back out, therefore we need THIS plan to deal with the problem, but according to the current bill WILL be able to get them to all come in and register, etc., etc. Come again? This just doesn’t compute! This is totally laughable if it weren’t so sad.

We Are All in it Together, Clinton Says

This header sounds innocuous, but as is often the case when dealing with Clintons, the devil is in the details.

Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a broad economic vision Tuesday, saying it’s time to replace an “on your own” society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.

All of this will be possible when we are able to produce “the New Soviet Man”.

The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an ownership society really is an “on your own” society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.

Fron each according to their ability, to each according to their need.

“I prefer a ‘we’re all in it together’ society,” she said. “I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none.”

Huh? Government that is “working for all Americans” and promoting “opportunity for all” to sign up and get on the gravy train…and “special privileges for none” – no more of that “special privilige” to work, build a business, and maybe even to become wealthy.

Unfortunately there’s even more. Read it and weep.

Real Cops Called On Food Cop

Boycotting motivational programs, demonizing Girl Scouts, and banning birthday cupcakes are just part of a day’s work for “executive publicist/advocate for brain, body, libido” MeMe Roth. Roth is the founder of National Action Against Obesity (NAAO). Yesterday the Philadelphia Spring Valley YMCA had to call the cops on the publicist-turned-food-cop when she tried to vandalize a table of toppings for ice cream sundaes.

This gal is so far out that it virtually defies comment, other than to identify as a definite moonbat. I mean come on, calling herself Me-Me sort of says it all.

NAFTA super-highway:
Governments never lie, they just don’t tell the truth

“There is absolutely no U.S. government plan for a NAFTA Superhighway of any sort,” says David Bohigian, an assistant secretary of commerce, in reply to a reporter’s question. The article also quotes Senator Kit Bonds as saying that the notion of a NAFTA super-highway is based on “unfounded theories,” with “no credence.”

Sounds solid, right? Guess again!

If these two gentlemen are correct, it will come as a great surprise to the North America’s SuperCorridor Coalition; the Texas Department of Transportation; the City of Fort Worth, and nearly two-dozen other major sponsors of a national conference: “Moving North America Forward,” on “SuperCorridors” they promote. The conference, May 30 – June 1, is designed to move the SuperCorridors projects forward.

Of course, these two gentlemen are not correct. NASCO boasts that it received millions in grants from the federal government. And TexDOT has been notified that its federal highway funding is in jeopardy if the state legislature’s two-year moratorium on toll-road construction is not overturned. The federal government is definitely involved in the creation of NAFTA SuperCorridors, but at an arms-length, sufficient to have “plausible deniability.”

The NAFTA SuperCorridors are but a part of the much broader agenda which seeks to create a North American Community. This goal is also denied by government officials – even while government employees from Mexico, Canada, and the U.S., meet daily in working groups to “harmonize” rules and regulations that will “integrate” the three nations.

Like we really want to have Mexican-style corruption, and Canuckian socialism imported here?

Keep your powder dry!

Support Weak for Amnesty Bill

Monday, May 28th, 2007

Few senators support illegals bill

Fewer than 20 senators are publicly committed to supporting the immigration deal that hits the Senate floor today while nearly 40 are already opposed or have serious concerns, underscoring how difficult it will be for President Bush and his allies to craft a coalition that can pass the bill.

Dang! What’s happening? Can that be the smell of coffee waking up Capitol Hill?

A Washington Times survey of Senate offices and public comments after the deal was announced Thursday found an additional 32 senators who said they cannot even take a position yet — a result of the fact that the deal was written in secret by a dozen senators and the Bush administration, wasn’t even finalized until yesterday and still hasn’t reached many Senate offices.

In spite of the Kennedy-McCainiacs’ denials that the bill constitutes amnesty, as the saying goes, “That dog won’t hunt” and Jim Bunning once again hits that strike zone with his reaction:

“I did not agree to any immigration deal and was not part of the negotiations,” said Sen. Jim Bunning, Kentucky Republican and a likely opponent. “From what I have heard about the bill, it gives amnesty to the estimated 12.5 million illegal immigrants in this country.”

For sure.

Memorial Day Thoughts

Monday, May 28th, 2007

This spring the Chief was surprised to discover that he had been volunteered to serve as the sexton for a small country cemetary a few miles from his HQ.  This has been an interesting sort of job, and has presented the opportunity to reflect on the circumstances of life, and of course, of its ending.

With Memorial Day at hand, the question arose as to what, if anything could/should be done in recognition of the the 31 vets (that are known) to have their remains in this cemetary.  (SMALL cemetery, but definitely still in use.)  As a retired Navy vet myself, this was not entirely an academic question, and an inquiry to the VFW led to contact with a post in Sioux Falls that has taken on the task of placing over 3000 flags on vets’ graves in two Sioux Falls cemeteries!  They  graciously provided us with a few dozen flags, and we at least did the honors of placing the flags with our own vets for the occasion, the first (but definitely not the last!) time that this has been done in an organized way at “our” cemetary.

Among “our” 31 that we know of, there are veterans of the Civil War, WW-I, WW-II, Korea, Viet-nam, as well as Cold War era service.  In spite of the relative remoteness of the cemetary, and the declining rural population, it was surprising and gratifying to see that flowers and memorials had been placed on the great majority of the gravesites…in some cases we KNOW that people travelled some distance (at $3.20 per gallon or more) in order to remember and honor their ancestors, whether vets or not.

IMHO, this demonstrates some sort of solid core values that are still alive and well here in flyover country, in spite of the sneers and condescension of the MSM and the so-called elites that they shove down our throats as examples of superiority that usually prove to be scum floating to the surface like something rotting and best avoided if at all possible.

Thank God for those who are still willing to serve and defend what is still the best nation that has existed on this planet, as well as to those who honor and respect the sacrifices and efforts of all of those who have contributed to the building of this Republic.

Liberalism v Islamism

This is a pretty good analysis…keep in mind that the writer is referring to “classical” liberalism here…not the current “social democratic” iteration of it as practiced by the libDonks, et al.

The founding ideologue of modern Islamism, Syed Qutb, made clear in his writings that at the core of the salafi interpretation of Islam was opposition to the separation of religion and temporal power that resulted in liberalism and democracy. His governing impulse was the fear that the instinct for liberty was so powerful it would spread to and infiltrate the Muslim mind unless it was checked by the most repressive possible form of Islam.

The Big and Little Satans themselves, America and Israel, are proxies for liberalism and modernity. That’s why Islamism says they must be destroyed. Qutb famously went to America and concluded from seeing men and women dancing at a church hop that America was one giant brothel. And much of the bitter hostility to the Jews who started returning to Palestine in the 1920s was because the women wore shorts and were sexually free.

So, where did Qutb go with this?

The Islamist goal is to destroy the virus of freedom and modernity before it infects the Islamic world, and to replace it with Islam. That is the core of the profound threat it poses to the west, a threat mounted through the pincer movement of both terrorism and cultural takeover.

This cultural takeover, or the aim to Islamise the west, was explicitly laid out in a programme of subversion for Europe by the Wahabbi Muslim Brotherhood almost 30 years ago. In 1978, the Organisation of the Islamic Conference sponsored a seminar in London which said Muslim communities in western countries must establish autonomous institutions with help from Muslim states, and lobby the host country to grant Muslims recognition as a separate religious community as a step towards eventual political domination.

In Britain in 1980, a book called ‘The Islamic Movement in the West’ by Khuram Murad advocated an ‘organised struggle to change the existing society into an Islamic society…and make Islam…supreme and dominant especially in the socio-political spheres…’ A Muslim Brotherhood document seized in Switzerland in 2001, known as ‘The Project’, outlined a twelve-point strategy to ‘establish an Islamic government on earth’. And the Brotherhood has now set up an intricate network of bodies across Europe to put all this into action.

There is of course more to the piece than this, and while it is approached from the British perspective (and if you think the US is having problems with this, pray for poor England under siege) it is just as relevant to us.

Young U.S. Muslims back suicide attacks

The first nationwide survey of Muslim Americans revealed that more than a quarter of those younger than 30 say suicide bombings to defend Islam are justified, a fact that drowned out the poll’s kinder, gentler findings suggesting that the community is mainstream and middle class. “There are trouble spots,” noted Andrew Kohut, director of the Pew Research Center, which conducted the survey of 1,050 adult Muslim Americans — two-thirds of whom were foreign-born — January to April. The results were released yesterday.

Well, that’s bad enough, but the Chief is just as concerned about this:

“We should be disturbed that 26 percent of these young people support an ideology in which the ends justify the means,” said Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, chairman of the Arizona-based American Islamic Forum for Democracy. “But the survey also found that only 40 percent of the overall American Muslim population would even admit that Arabs were behind 9/11. They’re in denial, refusing to take moral responsibility, and the radicals will feed on this,” Dr. Jasser said.

It’s good that Dr. Jasser has his head screwed on right, but 40% that can’t accept that Arabs did the 9-11 attack? What planet are they on?

OK. So what else is new here? Not much. Predictably MOST Islamic Americans are not radicals, but there is a sizeable minority that at least leans that way. A bit of the Gipper’s advice is is order here: “Trust but Verify”.

Donks Blink: War Funds w/no Timeline

Democrats capitulate on war funds

Congressional Democrats yesterday backed down in the standoff with the White House over war funds, abandoning their veto-instigating effort to link deadlines for withdrawing troops from Iraq to President Bush’s request for more than $100 billion in emergency spending.

They ran that idea up the flagpole, and it turned out that no one except Nancy Pelosi, the KosSacks, the MoveOn caucus, and others of that ilk saluted it, so Harry Reid, showing that he’s not TOTALLY bereft of reason, has moved forward on the funding without a surrender date-certain.

In essence, the Donks blinked on the key point.

Radical Muslim paramilitary compounds flourishing across the United States:
Islamberg not the only radical Muslim compound flourishing in North America

The story just keeps on coming – and unfortunately is doesn’t seem to be getting any better.

The two FBI types breaking bread with the enemy in the photo above at “Islamberg” look right at home to Canada Free Press (CFP). {ChiefNoteâ„¢: See the original article linked above for pic.) Notice the weapons these dudes are wearing at the dinner table? Islamberg is just one of what is thought to be a half dozen radical Muslim paramilitary compounds flourishing across the United States, this one nestled in dense forest at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains on the outskirts of Hancock, New York….

Now that the photos of the two unidentified FBI types have been published, we will undoubtedly hear that they were merely working undercover. But some sticklers would consider saying cheese from the dinner table of the enemy is over the top.

“Undercover”? Wearing guns openly? Yeah, right!

At least there’s a SLIGHt notice in the MSM since these stories have broken, but all too often the coverage is minimal, and apparently to be avoided at all costs:

You’d think that these compounds would be a priority for Homeland Security, but they aren’t. One of the letters to Williams via CFP was from a member of Homeland Security asking for more information!

It seems to be politically incorrect to write about radical Muslim paramilitary compounds flourishing on American soil and politically incorrect to talk about terrorism.

For some American and Canadian citizens, it’s welcome to life with a deadly enemy living right next door.

The fix is in? This only raises other questions: WHO’s fixing it, and why?

Illegal Immigration: A Nation Killer!

Monday, May 21st, 2007

A Bill Whittle’s Observation from his latest essay:

Large numbers of non-citizens want to live in the United States. Large numbers. A society can only assimilate so many people in a given year. If millions and millions of people come here illegally, they are loading the system to capacity at the expense of the honest, decent people who are doing the right thing by applying to immigrate legally. If we reward illegal immigration with amnesty, we have allowed the illegals not only to screw our own people and laws, but even more so they harm their own countrymen who are trying to get here by cooperating.

The biggest losers in our inability to control illegal immigration are the legal immigrants. What benefit do these honest people gain from playing by the rules? This is as clear a real-world example as you are likely to see of the lack of retaliation flipping a system from cooperation to betrayal.

And, by allowing this to happen, you also set a precedent, which I think is even more destructive: you are saying not only to the illegals but to the entire society that laws are for chumps. Cheaters win. How much of this do we need to be immersed in before everyone realizes the smart move is to flip from cooperation to betrayal? How much damage does it do when the very people sworn to uphold the law – uphold the rules that allow this amazing cooperation game to continue — are the ones who seem most enthusiastic to reward cheating? Finding out the cops are in on the crime is enough to drive even the most stout-hearted person to despair.

A steady diet of this message is not going to end well.

No, it isn’t. Talk about hitting the nail on the head!

The BIG IDEA…go read about it!

Monday, May 21st, 2007

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

Bill Whittle’s latest gem of essay is up today over at Eject! Eject! Eject!

Folks, you are about to be hit with a BIG IDEA.

It’s not entirely my big idea, but I’m willing to hang some tinsel on it and take credit for it.

First, a brief set-up, and then (and I will make an announcement in BOLD CAPS) comes the Big Idea.

Okay, the set-up:

I’ve written a dozen or so major essays since I hung my shingle over this little corner of cyberspace, and received wonderful e-mails about all of them. But two – the last two – have generated a very specific response: more passionate; desperate, even.

The first was Tribes, which basically posited that there were people who relied on themselves and people who relied on the State. The second was Seeing the Unseen, which took a look at conspiracy theories and the mental illness required to believe in ‘chemtrails’ and the 9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB pathology.

Those both generated reams and reams of heartfelt sentiment, and that sentiment was the much the same time and time again.

I thought I was all alone, people said. And I see this sense of despair and resignation spreading all across the web; from individuals in comment sections, or in lonely posts on obscure blogs.

Now here’s what’s interesting: this response is the same, again and again, although the stimulus is different. It might be increasing public irrationality and paranoia, or falling educational standards, or unchecked illegal immigration, or activist judges. Maybe it’s tolerance of crime, or endless lawsuits, or general mean-spiritedness. Perhaps it’s rampant defeatism, cynicism, a lack of common decency, and the sense that courage and honor are dying qualities that time is passing by.

And maybe it’s the dawning realization that our elites in politics, academia and entertainment (which controls our mythology) are leading the charge not to salvation but to the cliffs that seem so obvious to so many common people.

Something seems to be failing, something essential, as if all the nails and glue that hold a house together were dissolving all at once. And many people – perhaps you are one of them – watch all this happening and feel powerless to stop it.

Well, you are not alone.

So many stimuli, and always the same response: has the world gone mad?

What do those stimuli have in common?

HERE COMES THE BIG IDEA.

The Chief cannot urge you too strongly to go check it out – the edification you receive will be your own!

¡NO! to Immigration Bill

Friday, May 18th, 2007

The Chief encountered the following:

Governor Mitt Romney On The Senate Immigration Agreement

“I strongly oppose today’s bill going through the Senate. It is the wrong approach. Any legislation that allows illegal immigrants to stay in the country indefinitely, as the new ‘Z-Visa’ does, is a form of amnesty. That is unfair to the millions of people who have applied to legally immigrate to the U.S.

“Today’s Senate agreement falls short of the actions needed to both solve our country’s illegal immigration problem and also strengthen our legal immigration system. Border security and a reliable employment verification system must be our first priority.”

The Chief strongly concurs.

This act provides a fig-leaf of cover to the Republocrats in Congress and elsewhere, that “Yes, indeedy! We ARE acting to deal with the problem.” Unfortunately, the reality is different.

Just one illustration: Imagine some poor wetback schlub stalwart undocumented migrant worker making say, $12K “off the books”. The proposed Kennedy-McCain immigration con bill would have him (1) quit his job (2) go back home, and (3) pay $5K for the opportunity to get back onto a waiting list to come back in legally, and registered, and now fully taxable. Consider also that on a percentage basis, this is costing him 42% of his annual pay – to go on a list to get a “Z-visa”.

Hmmmmmm. Hmmmmm. Any guesses what his decision will be? Yeah, That’s what I thought, too!

As the saying goes: “This dog just won’t hunt!”

Investigation of Moslems of America / Jamaat al Fuqra

The Politics of CP has a report up on the Islamberg group that has quite a bit more background and information than the CFP article that has seemed to kick up a lot of attention in the blogosphere, and even in some spots in major media.

Unfortunately, more information does NOTHING to make one feel more comfortable with the situation…au contraire, it’s even worse than the first impression looked like. For instance, they have a listing of incidents including multiple bombings, shootings, arsons, and other attacks IN THE US that have been perpetrated by this group SINCE 1979!

So much for the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan driving their hatred of us.

Cabbies on edge as penalties begin

There has been something of an ongoing controversy up at the Minneapolis-St.Paul airport, with Somali moslem cab drivers refusing to pick up people who were carrying packages of alcoholic beverages, thereby seeking at least a partial imposition of Islamic law on the Twin Cities.

The airport commision has finally said “Enough is enough” and has sharpened penalties for such refusal to a 30 day suspended airport permit for the first offense, and a year bad for the second.

The cabbies are concerned.

Oh well! If they don’t like the rules at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport because the rules there are not in accord with the Moslem traditions, then perhaps they should seek new employment – driving cabs out of the airport at say, Riyadh, or perhaps Mogadishu.

President Goes International(ist)

A L.O.S.T. Presidency

This is not a good thing.

Any minute now, President Bush is going to make a fateful mistake. He will announce that his administration will make a concerted effort to secure the prompt ratification of a deeply flawed multilateral accord universally known by its acronym – LOST, as in the Law of the Sea Treaty.

When it comes to LOST, of course, prompt is a relative thing. It was first opened to signature and ratification in the early 1980s, but Ronald Reagan rejected it. In the mid-1990s, Bill Clinton resuscitated and negotiated a side-deal designed to fix, or at least obscure, what Mr. Reagan found objectionable.

Then, in 2004, the Bush administration decided to embrace the Law of the Sea Treaty. The argument seemed principally to be that, in the aftermath of the bruising fight over Iraq, doing so would demonstrate that the United States could still play well with its allies and other nations. Most were parties to LOST and are slavishly devoted to this and other treaties on the agenda of the Transnational Progressives.

Looks like the President’s internationalist tendencies are getting the worst of him…and/or he’s given up worrying about his base and embraceed the joys of being a totally lame duck.

Border Patrol conflict widens

The National Border Patrol Council has filed an unfair labor practices complaint against U.S. Border Patrol Chief David V. Aguilar, saying he sought to “intimidate” field agents in an effort to discredit a “no-confidence” vote by the union’s leadership. The Federal Labor Relations Authority complaint, brought by NBPC Vice President George E. McCubbin III, said Chief Aguilar “willfully and blatantly” violated federal guidelines when he sent a top aide to seek a “show of hands” among field agents for those who supported the chief in the wake of the no-confidence vote.

The upshot here:

The Border Patrol AGENTS don’t like the way they feel management is preventing them from properly doing their job due to strictures placed on them by administration driven political correctness and kowtowing to the Latino/Mexican movement.

The Border Patrol MANAGEMENT is embarrassed by that – and properly feel that if the public is aware of their fecklessness that there might even be some negative consequences to them…as there should be!

Atomic Agency Concludes Iran Is Stepping Up Nuclear Work

Why anyone should be surprised by this is surprising to the Chief.

Inspectors for the International Atomic Energy Agency have concluded that Iran appears to have solved most of its technological problems and is now beginning to enrich uranium on a far larger scale than before, according to the agency’s top officials.

Isn’t this just about exactly what Iranian President Ahm-mad-on-a-jihad Ahmadinejad has been saying was their goal all along?

The findings may change the calculus of diplomacy in Europe and in Washington, which aimed to force a suspension of Iran’s enrichment activities in large part to prevent it from learning how to produce weapons-grade material.

So now that they’ve had their nose rubbed in the dung, even the Euros and the State Department’s Foggy Bottom Boysâ„¢ finally have to face reality…or at least pay it some lip-service.

In a short-notice inspection of Iran’s operations in the main nuclear facility at Natanz on Sunday, conducted in advance of a report to the United Nations Security Council due early next week, the inspectors found that Iranian engineers were already using roughly 1,300 centrifuges and were producing fuel suitable for nuclear reactors weapons , according to diplomats and nuclear experts here.

(Meaning clarified by the Chief in above citation.)

OK. So NOW what? I’m not holding my breath in anticipation of a bold response.

Euros Shocked: Poles Set “Families First”

‘Repulsive’ Poland confronts Europe

Nearly 70 years after the invasion of Poland marked the beginning of a global cataclysm, the Central European nation once again finds itself confronting a foe it sees as a threat to Western civilization. While the rest of Europe largely accommodates a rising tide of secularism, many Polish leaders are prepared to fight back with a bold, traditional social agenda they envision not only for their own country but for the continent and the world.

The Chief finds this a surprising but welcome situation.

“The family is the hope for Poland, the hope for Europe, the hope for the entire world,” the 36-year-old leader told the global gathering of more than 3,300 from 75 nations. “… Without the family, there is no nation, there is no continent, there is no civilization, there is nothing.”

Although there is more in the story, that last statement says it all!

FBI, security officials warn of growing threat from Islamic extremists ‘next door’>

In case you thought the Chief may have been a bit overly cautious in his concerns about the previously noted “Islamberg” article, there is this from the FBI:

Plots by American-based Islamic terrorists with no direct ties to international terror networks form a large and growing threat to the American homeland, FBI and other security officials say. “The trend we’re seeing is that we are uncovering more instances of people here who have been radicalized … where there is not a direct thumbprint of al-Qaeda,” says John Miller, the FBI’s assistant director for public affairs.

ONCE AND FOR ALL WE HAVE GOT TO GET PAST THIS CONCEPT THAT THE G.W.O.T. ONLY INVOLVES INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS!! Islamoterrorism is a religiously based ideology – and like many other aspects of religion it can be an intensely personally driven mindset. It should be no surprise that individuals, or groups of individuals are inclined to act independently on the basis of their deeply held beliefs.

It must be the ACTIONS and MOTIVATION that defines Islamofascist terrorism – NOT some organizational affiliation or ties.

If it walks like a duck, has feathers, and quacks like a duck – the Chief is ready to call it a duck – whether or not it’s affiliated with Donald or Daffy.

Springtime in Islamberg:
Radical Muslim paramilitary compound flourishes in upper New York state

This is unbelieveable…what in the world are we paying taxes for when the government ignores something like this?

Situated within a dense forest at the foothills of the Catskill Mountains on the outskirts of Hancock, New York, Islamberg is not an ideal place for a summer vacation unless, of course, you are an exponent of the Jihad or a fan of Osama bin Laden.

The article goes on to descibe some of the details of this operation, which sounds like a combination of a quasi-communal village and a military (guerilla?) training camp). These guys have established such a rep in their area that the other locals are essentially cowed into submission in spite of prima facie evidence of various illegalities associated with the complex.

The whole operation is a part of the Jamaat ul Fuqra:

Islamberg is a branch of Muslims of the Americas Inc., a tax-exempt organization formed in 1980 by Pakistani cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, who refers to himself as “the sixth Sultan Ul Faqr,” Gilani, has been directly linked by court documents to Jamaat ul-Fuqra or “community of the impoverished,” an organization that seeks to “purify” Islam through violence.

Though primarily based in Lahore, Pakistan, Jamaat ul-Fuqra has operational headquarters in New York and openly recruits through various social service organizations in the U.S., including the prison system. Members live in hamaats or compounds, such as Islamberg, where they agree to abide by the laws of Jamaat ul-Fuqra, which are considered to be above local, state and federal authority. Additional hamaats have been established in Hyattsville, Maryland; Red House, Virginia; Falls Church, Virginia; Macon, Georgia; York, South Carolina; Dover, Tennessee; Buena Vista, Colorado; Talihina, Oklahoma; Tulane Country, California; Commerce, California; and Onalaska, Washington. Others are being built, including an expansive facility in Sherman, Pennsylvania.

But wait! There’s more!

Over the years, numerous members of Jamaat ul-Fuqra have been convicted in US courts of such crimes as conspiracy to commit murder, firebombing, gun smuggling, and workers’ compensation fraud. Others remain leading suspects in criminal cases throughout the country, including ten unsolved assassinations and seventeen fire-bombings between 1979 and 1990. The criminal charges against the group and the criminal convictions are not things of the past. In 2001, a resident of a California compound was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of a sheriff’s deputy; another was charged with gun-smuggling’ and twenty-four members of the Red House community were convicted of firearms violations.

By 2004 federal investigators uncovered evidence that linked both the DC “sniper killer” John Allen Muhammed and “Shoe Bomber” Richard Reid to the group and reports surfaced that Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl was captured and beheaded in the process of attempting to obtain an interview with Sheikh Gilani in Pakistan.

So, where is Homeland Security? The FBI? The NY State Police? ANYBODY?

Even though Jamaat ul-Fuqra has been involved in terror attacks and sundry criminal activities, recruited thousands of members from federal and state penal systems, and appears to be operating paramilitary facilities for militant Muslims, it remains to be placed on the official US Terror Watch List. On the contrary, it continues to operate, flourish, and expand as a legitimate nonprofit, tax-deductible charity.

At this point the Chief sits here at the keyboard, at a loss for words adequate to describe the situation as it deserves. Homeland Security? What homeland security?

Brutal Taliban leader killed ‘by US forces’

The body of the Taliban’s most feared commander was put on display yesterday after he was killed in an operation including US special forces. It was the Islamic rebels’ biggest single loss since it was toppled from power in 2001. Mullah Dadullah Akhund, a one-legged battlefield veteran, was so bloodthirsty that he was once dismissed from office by the Taliban because of his excessive brutality.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer, move deserving guy!

…in the right direction!

Europe to scan mosques for radicals

Looks like the Euros are starting to finally get the point concerning activities of the Islamofascists amongst them even at the risk of mortally offending the gods of P.C with…dare one say it: “profiling”! Will wonders never cease?

Security officials from Europe’s largest countries backed a plan yesterday to profile mosques on the Continent and identify radical Islamic clerics who raise the threat of homegrown terrorism. The project, to be finished by the fall, will focus on the roles of imams, their training, their ability to speak in the local language and their sources of funding, EU Justice and Home Affairs Commissioner Franco Frattini said at a press conference after a meeting on terrorism.

Italian Interior Minister Giuliano Amato said Europe had extensive experience with the “misuse of mosques, which instead of being places of worship are used for other ends. “This is bringing about a situation that involves all of our countries and involves the possibility of attacks and developing of networks that use one country to prepare an attack in another,” Mr. Amato said.

The Chief wonders what it will take for the US Homeland Security to get enough testosterone to overcome the prospect of CAIR (Congress of Angry Isalmofascist Rabble-rousers) and start to do something like this that might actually even be effective.

South Dakota Peace & Justice Center plans rally in Sioux Falls

The South Dakota Peace & Justice Center plans a rally in Sioux Falls for later today. The 11:30 a.m. event is part of a national campaign organized by the Peace Alliance to create a Department of Peace within the U.S. Government.

“The Department of Peace is not only about international peace, but it also has a domestic component that we need now more than ever. It’s time we take the focus off non-violent solutions and vengeful retributions,” according to a statement from the South Dakota Peace & Justice Center.

Ingenuity in inventing ways to waste perfectly good time and money is a wondrous and never-ending phenomenon.

Department of Peace? [gasp! choke! gag! retch! vomit!] Phew! That feels better now! Got to get out of this post before it happens again!
